the magic of linen

Linen is produced from the flax plant - one of the most luxurious of fabrics and also one of the oldest used by humans. It was long believed that flax could protect from black magic and witchcraft.

The hollow fibers of flax act like little insulation bars, trapping heat in winter and keeping you cool in summer. These hollow fibers are also super absorbent (or moisture wicking). They can hold up to 20% of their weight in water so even if your baby is a sweaty one they will still feel dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Linen is naturally anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic making it a good choice for the allergy prone. It is the OG in sustainable fabric as the cultivation of flax produces little to no waste. All parts of the plant that aren’t used for textiles can be used for something else; food, oil, paper, soap, varnish, animal feed.. the list goes on!

Flax requires no fertilisers or pesticides, and uses 5 to 20 times less water than cotton or synthetic fibres to produce. Not to mention it absorbs loads of carbon dioxide - 3.7 metric tonnes per hectare - converting it to oxygen. It is incredibly durable - 30% more than cotton - so your sheets last longer, getting even more supple and beautiful as they wear.

Linen is the most magically tactile, scrunchy, crispy, soft, delicious fabric! Obviously our love of linen runs deep and brings out the excitement from within.
